Gazebo Outdoor and Garden Lighting

A gazebo in your garden is a boon for entertaining or just relaxing on a summer's day. But by adding even fairly simple lighting, you can make it a useful living space for the evening too. As many of us relax in the evening, it makes sense to use the garden in the evening too.

If you are planning a party in your garden, you can use spike spotlights to highlight its your gazebo's structure and create an interesting focal point, as well as providing useful light in the whole surrounding area.

Another option is to add subtle or diffused outdoor accent lighting. This will transform your gazebo into a useful dining area,  This will certainly create a great impression on guests, but also offers a great area for relaxing with a glass of wine with friends on any warm evening.

There are many varieties of lights which can light a gazebo different types of gazebo, and they vary dramatically in price, depending on their design. Installation complexity also varies, as will any professional installation needed.

Types of Gazebo Lights

Solar lights are the greenest option, but will provide an ambient glow rather than strong illumination. Make sure that you place the lighting units where they receive a lot of sunlight. During the day, the batteries charge automatically in sunlight and when the sun goes down, they turn on automatically and remain illuminated overnight. They do grow dimmer as the night wears on,  but can look effective if carefully placed.

Solar lanterns can be hung under the roof as a temporary but effective solution, while LED solar string lights or solar rope gazebo lights can be hung from hooks around or under the gazebo There are many even solar net lights, which  can be easily attached to the gazebo roof, or hung at the side.
If you need stronger or totally reliable light, mains gazebo lights can be installed for a reasonable outlay. After an electrician has run an electrical wire to a suitable spot, and connected the fitting, you just turn on the gazebo lights whenever you want. If you possibly can, get any other outdoor lights and electrics put in at the same time. It will cost much less than calling out a professional again in the future

An outdoor socket is another alternative. Once the outdoor sockets have been professionally installed, you can plug in lights and other electrics like water features,  All items must be approved for outdoor use.

Then the fun starts!

You could consider gazebo chandeliers, lantern lights, string lights, globe lamps, wall lanterns and fitting which clamp in place.
Spike spot lights, placed around the gazebo at ground level provide adaptable lighting for your gazebo.

By trying different positions of spotlights, and a variety of angles and directions, you can vary the effect from wild and dramatic effects when you want to show off, to practical light to eat by.
