Garden Lighting Choices

GardenLight is here to help you to choose the best garden lights for your outdoor space, to help you achieve the lighting effects you want to achieve. There is a huge choice of a garden lights, and it's easy to get carried away, but you first need to look at function.
What do you need the lighting to do?
What effect do you want to create?
Where a light fitting could be placed to achieve this?

And finally, which light fitting will best suit the situation, and give us a result we can be happy with? The garden lights themselves must provide a waterproof or weatherproof housing, for safety, and tough enough to protect it against any impact it may receive.

You can highlight almost any feature and the results are dramatic! Like the snow, outdoor lighting can transform the boring into the sublime. Find a feature, whether it be tree, shrub, structure or garden ornament. This transformation can be achieved remarkably cheaply, and is a great way to turn any space into a dramatic statement.

Or do you have a path or steps that need lighting for safety reasons?

The increasing range of lights available to light paths, including solar and LED has transformed our ability to be creative in making the garden safe. It is no longer just utilitarian- be adventurous! Maybe save electricity too, and have a garden to be proud of.

Your front door needs to be lighted so visitors can arrive safely. with wall lights offering a low maintenance option general illumination here, but also in many other areas around the house around the house.

Patio lighting makes such a difference when entertaining friends.  It can light an intimate eating area, or flood a space for fun and parties. then of course, there's barbecue lighting so you can see what you're cooking and whether it's cooked. It's so not reassuring when a host runs to check for bloody bits in the kitchen!

The most amazing outdoor lighting effects can be achieved for a remarkably low outlay. but if you use you garden a lot, the opportunities to design and create a magical night time outdoor living space.

Of course, we have to come down to earth to think about connecting the lights safely. A qualified electrician is the only choice for some installations, or for anyone unsure of the stringent safety requirements. This is not an area to mess with. But some of the new lighting options, especially solar lights need no installation. If you do get an electrician in to fit a light or system, consider getting an outside plug put in at the same time, as it will cost less to have this done at the same time, rather than calling in a professional twice.
