Get the Most out of your Garden this Summer

Good garden lighting can make a dramatic difference to your home, and can be used to effect in the smallest space. If the only light in your garden is a security flood light, you are missing out on a magical night time world. Make long summer evenings in your garden a reality- it is fine enough to sit out for plenty of evenings in a British summer, and you can extend this with drizzle and shower cover. A lighting scheme doesn't have to be elaborate, although it certainly it can be.

By creating shadows, you automatically emphasise previously unnoticed nuances of your garden.  Every garden is different, and you can choose how to light yours. If you are a keen gardener, you will want the lighting to complement your planting and emphasise your favourite plants.

If on the other hand, if you don't want to bother much with the garden, and would only really use it after work, to entertain or relax, forget the plants and use the money on lighting! Well thought out garden lights will transform a dreary daytime yard into an evening space you enjoy using.

You can accentuate paths, create enticing secret areas, zone lighting on patios and terraces, so you define areas for eating, relaxing, reading, give life to water features.

There are three key areas to address if you want to be able to use your garden longer: outdoor lighting, followed by rain cover and heat.

So, to get out there this summer and make the most of the good weather [stop being cynical- we always get some!], the the next things you need to consider are
    • what to light
    • how to light
      1. how to connect/control the lights
The choice of exterior light fittings is immense, including the very latest in low voltage, LED’s and fibre optics.
